Meet the Team
Let us introduce ourselves
Atefeh
I am a registered childminder with Ofsted in Twickenham. I have been providing professional childminding services for over 20 years, gaining extensive experience in working with children of all ages. I am proud to have achieved an 'outstanding' grade during inspections for the past three consecutive years, with my most recent inspection taking place in June 2020.
My primary goal is to provide high-quality care and education in a warm and nurturing home-setting. I believe in creating a safe and stimulating environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential. As an experienced childminder with a Bachelors degree in child education and a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in home-based childcare services, I am well-versed in the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which guides my practice in supporting children's holistic development.
In my care, children can enjoy a wide range of age-appropriate activities that promote their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth. These activities include arts and crafts, outdoor play, music and movement, story time, and educational games. I also provide healthy homemade meals, ensuring that children receive proper nutrition throughout the day.
Having worked in various private nurseries throughout my career, I have honed my skills in understanding and meeting the unique needs of each child. I am dedicated to fostering positive relationships with both children and their families, creating a sense of trust and open communication. I can provide excellent references from previous families who have entrusted their children to my care.
Parisa
I'm Parisa, and I love helping children grow and become confident by playing and learning new things. As a mum to a wonderful teenage boy in Year 9 and an experienced childminder registered since 2021, I know a lot about helping kids learn and have fun. I've worked at the Waterlily Childminding for over seven years, which has been rated Outstanding in all areas of learning.
I'm Persian and speak both English and Persian. I focus on teaching through play according to the Early Years Foundation Stage. Every day, we go outside to places like Kew Gardens, Richmond Park, Hampton Court, and local parks. These places are great for learning and having fun.
I also encourage eating healthy and staying active. We serve fresh homemade Persian food for lunch, plus breakfast and snacks. We have a dance club once a week for exercise. Every day, we have time for stories and songs to help kids get better at talking and to love reading and singing.
We do arts and crafts, baking, and cooking too. We often visit libraries, zoos, farms, museums, play areas, cinemas, and places like the London Aquarium, Safari Park, Natural History Museum, and even Parliament. We travel by car, bus, or boat for fun and learning.
Childminding ratios
Childminders can benefit from working with assistants, as it allows them to care for more children. With additional staff, childminders can typically have a ratio of 1 adult to 3 or 4 children aged 3 months to 4 years.
Continuous Improvement
Everyone at Waterlily undertakes continuous improvement opportunities. We regularly attend training and have access to a wide range of educational materials and resources. We are a close team and use each other to collaborate, share ideas and strategies, as well as utilising evaluations to discuss feedback and reflect on our childcare practice. We work together to guide and encourage each other's development to ensure we can deliver the best possible service for our children and parents.
